I feel like we really lost something when we started looking at writing as a reader-centric product meant to appeal to the desires of a specific audience rather than a writer-centric approach of someone writes whatever particular thing particular compels them/whatever weird thing the demons in their head want to talk about, and people out there who are also compelled, and/or relate, find that writing. A lot of discussions of writing really center around what readers want rather than a writer's exploration. Sometimes as a reader I don't know what I want. I click on a fic or pick up a book I'm not sure about but that looks interesting, and I love it. Reading what I expect to get is it's own joy, but we always need to expand our horizons and not get mad at creators for not always writing what we want/expect.

Silver's basically a physical carbon copy of his biodad, so what did he get from her? like, I understand why the two of them kind of have to stay as these super vague and mysterious figures -- the whole point of them is that their story ended 400+ years ago and they're not really relevant anymore (and. well. the more that gets explained about them, the less that can just kinda be handwaved as "oh the politics were Very Messy") (we can sit here and theorize all day but let us acknowledge that, ultimately, canon gave us almost nothing about them post-Meleanor and we'd just be making things up). I do still wonder about her though! RIP Lea, we never knew you and we probably never will.

hey, just as a btw, a fic or a series not uploading for a year doesn't mean its abandoned.

Sometimes the authors have shit going on, other wips, or! it just needs to sit and marinate for a bit. Collecting all the flavor and details it wouldn't have otherwise.

And if you're impatient? Why not leave a nice comment telling us (the author(s)) what you love about the fic or series? say that you love it, and are "waiting eagerly for the next chapter" and/or that you "would love to see x or y happen because it would mean-"

This could be a new fandom vibe because of all the "i have to drop this while people are still interested" energy, but its not universal, and i don't believe its good for the fandom ecosystem.

Have patience, and have compassion. Remember that authors are human and these fics? (or comics, animatics, whatever) This is our art. We care about it just as much, if not more than you.

Omega Steve and Omega Eddie who are completely enamored by each other. Absolutely feral for each other. Their scents are so thick on each other when they meet new people, people think that's just their own scent. Steve is constantly biting at Eddie's neck, leaving bites along his mating gland. They never last, even if they wish it would. Omegas can't bite deep enough to mate other omegas.

Steve is spread out in their nest, waiting for his love to come home. Its later then Eddie said, and he's trying to not let his scent turn acrid in their nest. A few minutes wouldn't be an issue, but an hour? His head pops up off the pillow when he hears the front door slam. "Eddie?" He calls, sitting up on the edge of the bed.

"Stevie, Sweetheart, can you close your eyes for a second?" Eddie calls. Steve hears his footsteps stop outside the bedroom door. "Why?" Steve glares lightly at the door," you're late by the way."

"I know and I am so sorry. What I was doing took longer then I thought and- just...please?" Eddie's scent comes through the door. Warm and apologetic. Steve sighs heavily before closing his eyes," Fine."

The door opens and Steve can hear Eddie walk up to the bed. "I'm sorry I'm late. It took longer then I expected an-" "What took longer?" "I thought it was a good idea but on the way home I overthought it and now i- well anyways I uh I got a tattoo. I uh hope you like it." Eddie whispers.

Steve opens his eyes. The first thing he sees is Eddie fidgeting with his rings. The tension in his stance. He can smell the anxiety rolling off him. The way Eddie's brow is furrowed and Eddie won't look him in the eyes. It takes Steve a second to notice the tattoo.

Steve gasps, sitting up straighter. Eddie's neck, specifically his mating gland, has a tattoo. "Is that-" Steve starts but Eddie cuts him off," Your teeth marks? Yeah. Figured since a regular bite doesn't stick might as well get it tattooed. Wanted to show the whole world we're mated."

Steve licks his lips as he stares at the tattoo. "You mad?" Eddie finally looks up into Steve's eyes. "Definitely not mad," Steve mumbles. Eddie's eyes widen as the smell of slick hits him," Oh." Steve inhales sharply, "You're so amazing and awesome and fuck me how-" "I'll fuck you don't worry."

I feel like 99% of the Silmarillion fans forget that Fëanor was actually a very likeable guy for most of his life.

That is literally a significant part of why people followed him. A lot of people loved and admired him. He wasn't mean to random people, and definitely not "a toxic husband/father." The whole point of his story is that he was universally beloved, which is what made his fall so impactful.

I love it when people in this fandom try to find reasons why tommy is such a horrible boyfriend and they bring up 8x05 and say that he wasn't interested in what buck was talking about. my brother in christ that man went to the hospital to see buck right after his shift was over, took him home, took care of him. he was exhausted and in the middle of the night he simply wanted to sleep but he couldn't because his boyfriend was yapping about the curse that a dead outlaw put on him. be so for real right now.
